Abstract
The effect of platinum impregnation on the ionic conductivity of yttri a stabilized zirconia (YSZ) has been determined using complex impedanc e measurements in the frequency range 10(1)-10(7) Hz. Ionic conductivi ties and the corresponding activation enthalpies are reported for the temperature range 200-600 degrees C. Platinum agglomerated at the grai n boundaries of polycrystalline samples reduces ion transport across t he intergranular zone. The evaporation Impregnated Stabilized Zirconia in Bulk and recondensation of YSZ and the addition of Pt results in p orous materials and Microporous Materials with improved oxygen ion con ductivity.
