G. Sais et al., TUBERCULOUS LYMPHADENITIS PRESENTING WITH CUTANEOUS LEUKOCYTOCLASTIC VASCULITIS, Clinical and experimental dermatology, 21(1), 1996, pp. 65-66
Cutaneous leucocytoclastic vasculitis is an inflammatory vascular diso
rder due to deposition of immune complexes in dermal vessels. A direct
or indirect role of infectious agents in the pathogenesis of such vas
culitis has been postulated. We describe a patient with cervical lymph
adenitis due to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection who developed cut
aneous vasculitis. The vasculitis resolved with standard antituberculo
us therapy. The association between leucocytoclastic vasculitis and tu
berculous infection has only rarely been reported.
