Fd. Nobre et C. Tsallis, LOCALIZED-SPINS IDEAL PARAMAGNET WITHIN NON-EXTENSIVE THERMOSTATISTICS, Philosophical magazine. B. Physics of condensed matter. Statistical mechanics, electronic, optical and magnetic, 73(5), 1996, pp. 745-762
Within a recently generalized thermostatistical framework which allows
for non-extensive effects, we discuss numerically the ideal paramagne
t (N non-interacting localized spins in the presence of an external ma
gnetic field) in order to illustrate the existence of a well behaved t
hermodynamic limit for the canonical ensemble. Both the specific heat
(generalized Schottky anomaly) and the isothermal magnetic susceptibil
ity (generalized Curie law) are calculated and data collapse is exhibi
ted for N much greater than 1. In addition to this, and within a molec
ular-field approximation, we have generalized the Curie-Weiss law.
