The kinetic regularities of conversion of ozone complexes with several
substituted benzenes (ArX = C(6)H(5)Me, C(6)H(5)Et, C(6)H(5)CHMe(2),
C(6)H(5)CMe(3), C6H5F, C6H5Cl, m-BrC(6)H(5)Me, and C6H5CH2Cl) were stu
died by spectrophotometry. The rate of consumption of ArX . O-3 in a C
H2Cl2-ArX solution obeys the kinetic equation W = k(0)[ArX . O-3]+k(1)
[ArX . O-3][ArX]. The values of the rate constants k(0) and k(1) for t
he complexes studied were determined at -60 divided by 0 degrees C.
