A new class of pathway-selective high-resolution gradient NMR experime
nts is introduced, in which the spatial evolution due to the magnetic
field gradient is employed to discretely spatially modulate the pulse
sequence as seen by the spins. For multiple quantum filtered experimen
ts this approach retains the full sensitivity of the phase-cycled anal
ogs while at the same time benefiting from the gradients increased dyn
amic range and reduced experiment times.
