Abstract
The arylsulfatase gene from Campylobacter jejuni 81-176 encodes a pred icted protein of 69,293 Da which shows no sequence similarity with oth er known arylsulfatases. The gene hybridizes to other Ast(+) strains o f C. jejuni and Campylobacter sputorum subsp. bubulus, as well as to m any Ast(-) strains of C. jejuni.
