T. Yamaguchi et al., COMPLEX-FORMATION OF HIGHLY POLYMERIZED H YDROXOALUMINUM POLYCATIONS WITH SYNTHETIC EXPANDABLE FLUORINE MICA, Nippon kagaku kaishi, (3), 1996, pp. 307-310
Synthetic expandable fluorine mica having layer charge of 0.5 [Na0.5Mg
2.5Li0.5Si4O10F2] was reacted with concentrated hydroxoaluminum soluti
on containing highly polymerized species of hydroxoaluminum polycation
s, which had six or eighteen times larger volumes than ordinary Al-13-
polycation having Keggin structure. Thermal durability of the complexe
s thus obtained from concentrated hydroxoaluminum solution was higher
than that obtained from ordinary Al-13-polycation while microporous ch
aracters vanished for the former complexes, i.e., alumina pillared flu
orine micas. The increase in thermal durability and vanishment of micr
oporous characters probably resulted irom the stuffed structure of int
ercalated bulky hydroxoaluminum polycations having larger polymerizati
on degree as well as the highest value of intercalated Al-content of 2
.30 mol/Si4O10.
