Abstract
An investigation has been made of the vapour-phase reaction of 1,4-but anediol, 1,5-pentadiol, 1,6-hexanediol and 2,5-hexanediol with ammonia and hydrogen at a temperature of 160-230 degrees C on oxide copper-zi nc-aluminium catalyst SNM-1 and a reduced, promoted, sintered iron cat alyst. The composition of the main reaction products has been establis hed, and schemes of their formation are suggested. (C) 1996 Elsevier S cience Ltd. All rights reserved.
