Abstract
The emitted spectrum in the two-photon transition resonant with the 8S -1(0) state in Hg is experimentally investigated. A complete list of t he emitted lines that are due to second-harmonic generation, frequency mixing with internally generated photons, parametric generation, Rama n scattering, and dimer emission and a list of their relative intensit ies are presented for the first time to our knowledge.
