Abstract
A leiomyosarcoma of the right pulmonary vein in a 43-year-old woman ex tended to the right atrial wall and compromised the posterior mitral l eaflet. Successful surgical treatment was accomplished with a right pn eumonectomy, partial resection of the left atrial wall, and mitral val ve replacement under cardiopulmonary bypass. Six months later a medias tinal recurrence with extension to the left hemithorax was treated wit h resection and postoperative radiotherapy.
