Jl. Scott, SOLID-STATE FORMATION OF AN INCLUSION COMPOUND OF CHOLIC-ACID WITH P-TOLUIDINE, Journal of chemical crystallography, 26(3), 1996, pp. 185-189
Cholic acid undergoes solid-solid reactions with some aromatic molecul
es to form inclusion compounds. Simple shaking of a mixture of powdere
d cholic acid and p-toluidine results in formation of the 1:1 (host:gu
est) inclusion compound which has the same Structure as that formed by
conventional crystallization methods: monoclinic space group P2(1) wi
th a = 13.577(4), b = 8.078(2), c = 14.182(6) Angstrom, beta = 114.42(
3)degrees, Z = 2 and R(1) = 0.061 for 2680 unique reflections.
