Os. Oleneva et al., SOIL BIOTESTING FOR AVAILABLE ORGANIC-MATTER BY MEANS OF MICROBIAL-POPULATION ASSESSMENT, Eurasian soil science, 28(6), 1996, pp. 100-106
Determination of easily available organic matter (for microorganisms)
in soil extracts may be based on measurements of the increment in Ps.
fluorescens population, as it was illustrated by experiments with a ty
pical. chernozem and a sod-podzolic soil. Quantification may comprise
either routing probes, or microscopic observations on multiplication a
nd migration rates on a hard surface. Equations of regression are give
n to compute concentrations of easily available organic matter.
