Abstract
A comparative study is conducted for paleosoils of archaeological monu ments of different age within Dark Chestnut, Chestnut, Light Chestnut, and Brown Desert-Steppe soil geographical subzones. Indicators of sol onetzicity in soils of the region appeared asynchronically, mainly in the third and second millennia B.C. The solonetzic stage is considered obligatory in the formation of modem Light Chestnut and Brown Soils.
