L. Hocqueloux et al., GRANULAR-CELL TUMOR - A BRONCHIAL LOCALIZ ATION AND REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE, La Revue de medecine interne, 17(5), 1996, pp. 415-418
Abrikossoff's tumor, also called granular cell tumor, is an uncommon c
ondition, generally benign, which can affect every organ and specially
skin and tongue. The authors report on observation of a bronchial tum
or and review the literature. Possible relapse after treatment, locall
y or everywhere in the body, may occur as local or regional complicati
on that may necessit heavy surgery. It appears that a benign tumor can
have macroscopic and even microscopic aspect of malignancy, when real
malignant tumors are extremely rare. Wide excision still remain curre
nt treatment of Abrikossoff's tumor. Endoscopic methods are an interes
sant and less invasive alternative to treat some deep tumors.
