TOURISM AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION IN SOCHI, RUSSIA

Fuel energetics, motor transport, and industrial resort and tourist en terprises all contribute to environmental pollution in the Sochi regio n of the Black Sea Coast of Russia. The rapid growth of the resort and tourism branch of the economy results in environmental degradation, b ecause present technologies violate today's ecology standards. Solutio ns to this extreme ecological situation must take into account the con cept of the special economic and ecological region and the specific in struments of legal regulation necessary to control the state of the en vironment.
