Abstract
The mixing rules and the expressions of the physical contributions to the excess functions of mixing given by the ERAS model are critically re-examined, As a result, new and more rigorous equations are derived. Calculations performed on the typical systems confirm meaningful diff erences between the old and new formulation at low concentrations of t he associated substance.
