Abstract
The fractal dimensions of colloidal particles of copper hydrous oxides in the presence of natural occurring anionic exopolymers are reported from measurements using both small-angle X-ray- and static light scat tering techniques. The power law decay of the structure factor [S(k)si milar to k(-D)] of colloidal copper hydrous oxides dispersions can be explained in terms of fractal geometry. D is found to be 2.15 +/- 0.05 for Cu(OH)(2), and for colloidal Cu2O . x H2O aggregates a value of 1 .75 +/- 0.07 was determined.
