Abstract
Using the sheet model for the electron beam, a system of one-dimension al nonlinear equations has been constructed that describes the dynamic s of the beam along with that of the three complex wave amplitudes in the plasma beat-wave accelerator scheme. This system can give directly the acceleration rate in terms of the basic parameters of the process . (C) 1996 American Institute of Physics.
