Abstract
A method is presented which is appropriate to analyse complex vibratio nal spectra of molecular systems including several components. The met hod which is related to global analysis is directed to determine the s pectra of the individual components together with their relative contr ibutions in a given set of vibrational spectra. The advantages of this approach are investigated by systematically analysing a series of art ificially generated spectra, The applicability of this method to the a nalysis of experimental spectra is demonstrated in a resonance Raman s tudy of a pH-dependent conformational equilibrium of cytochrome c.
