Abstract
The major plant poisonings and mycotoxicoses of southern Africa are di scussed in relation to East Africa. As almost all the plant genera and most species responsible for intoxication in southern Africa are pres ent in East Africa, it is postulated that the same intoxications proba bly also occur in the latter. There is a necessity to diagnose and con trol these conditions.
