Tc. Sangster et al., FRAGMENT EMISSION TIME-SCALE IN INTERMEDIATE-ENERGY HEAVY-ION COLLISIONS, Physical review. C. Nuclear physics, 47(6), 1993, pp. 2457-2461
Complete two-fragment velocity systematics have been measured over the
entire range of fragmentation products for the system Fe-56 + Au-157
at 50 and 100 MeV per nucleon. Fragment emission lifetimes are estimat
ed from the reduced velocity (V(rel) square-root Z1+Z2) correlation fu
nctions by a direct comparison with results from a classical three-bod
y trajectory calculation. Furthermore, we examine the validity of the
reduced velocity, V(red), as a scaling parameter for constructing mixe
d-fragment (Z1 not-equal Z2) correlation functions over the full measu
red range (5 less-than-or-equal-to Z(i,j) less-than-or-equal-to 53) of
fragment pairs excluding fission.
