Mb. Tsang et al., MULTIPLICITY DEPENDENCE OF AZIMUTHAL DISTRIBUTIONS FOR AR-36-197 COLLISIONS AT E(AU)A = 35 MEV/, Physical review. C. Nuclear physics, 47(6), 1993, pp. 2717-2730
Collisions between Ar-36 projectile and Au-197 target nuclei at EIA =3
5 MeV have been studied with the Michigan State University Miniball, a
4pi phoswich array with a low detection threshold. Azimuthal distribu
tions of charged particles with respect to the reaction plane are dete
rmined via the transverse-momentum-tensor method. Dependence on the ki
netic energy of the emitted particles, the collision geometry, and the
associated charged particle multiplicity is investigated. Corrections
for the intrinsic resolution of the experimental reaction plane deter
mination are applied. Scaling implied by the coalescence model is expl
ored and the data are compared to the results of microscopic calculati
ons within the Boltzmann-Uehling-Uhlenbeck theory.
