Abstract
The one-loop divergences of the effective action are calculated for a string in external background fields that interacts with two-dimension al gravity. The calculations are performed in harmonic and conformal g auges with allowance for contributions from quantum gravity. The struc ture of renormalizations of the model is studied, and conditions are f ormulated that ensure the quantum Weyl invariance of the theory in que stion.
