Abstract
Scaling equations determining Haar-type wavelets are considered for th ree Pisot numbers beta=(1+ root 5)/2, 1 + root 2, 2 + root 3 appearing as dilation factors in scale invariance of observed diffraction patte rns of quasicrystals. Simple summation formulas for exponentials of th e corresponding beta integers are derived. (C) 1996 American Institute of Physics.
