Abstract
We construct an infinite family of soliton equations, the lowest membe r of which corresponds to the Ito-equation: using the bilinear formali sm, we obtain a generic bilinear form leading to a recursion operator for this family. A generic Lax-pair and bilinear Backlund-transformati on are also reported.
