Abstract
The reactions of phosphenium salts (Cl-P+-NR2)A- (A = AlCl4, CF3SO3) 1 with guanidines (R2N)2C=NSiMe3 2 afford dicationic bis(dialkylamino)m ethylene]-1,3-diazonia-2lambda3, 4lambda3-diphosphacyclobutanes 3 or l ambda3-phospha-4,4,4-trichloroaluminacyclobutanes 5, depending on the experimental conditions.
