Abstract
Surgical conditions affecting the neonatal intestine, including duoden al atresia, jejunoileal atresia, meconium ileus, midgut volvulus, Hirs chsprung's disease, and necrotizing enterocolitis, are covered. Emphas is is on the practical issues of resuscitation and systematic evaluati on. Detailed information on the surgical approach is then provided, to aid the surgeon-in-training, and the non-surgeon alike in understandi ng the management issues that arise in the operating room. Finally, lo ng-term issues that arise in the follow-up of these children are addre ssed.
