The outcomes of therapy are analyzed for both early-stage and locally advanced disease, including alternative therapeutic strategie s. On the basis of this review of the literature, current treatment re commendations delineate patients most likely to benefit from radiation therapy as opposed to alternative therapeutic modalities.
