Abstract
Recent brachytherapy literature not only suggests that modern-day pros tate seed implantation has a role in the treatment of early-stage pros tate cancer but also that it may be superior to both surgery and exter nal beam radiation therapy when evaluated by current therapeutic and e conomic endpoints. Prostate brachytherapy is emerging as a cost-effect ive, low morbidity, highly effective treatment modality for early-stag e prostate cancer.
