Abstract
A method for selection of longitudinal modes of a laser cavity is desc ribed. This method is based on modulation of the cavity length during a pump pulse. Simplicity and reliability are ensured by the absence of feedback. Construction is reported of a pulse-periodic YAG:Nd laser e mitting single-frequency radiation in 100 % of the pulses.
