Ba2NaNb5O15 (BNN) thin films were deposited by the If magnetron sputte
ring method on fused-quartz and Pt substrates in Ar+O-2 (9:1) atmosphe
re at 2Pa for 8h. The c-axis-orientated BNN thin films were successful
ly grown at the substrate temperature of 730 degrees C and 780 degrees
C. The remanent polarization (Pr) and coercive field (E(c)) of specim
en deposited at 730 degrees C were 30.9 mu C/cm(2) and 13kV/cm, respec
tively. The second harmonic generation (SHG) experiment was performed
using Nd:YAG laser (lambda=1.06mm). The SHG intensity of specimen depo
sited at 830 degrees C was the strongest compared with another two spe
cimens deposited at 730 degrees C and 780 degrees C.
