EXPERIMENTAL-STUDY OF X-PINCH DYNAMICS

Results are presented from a wide variety of X-pinch experiments with metallic wires and dielectric fibers that were carried out in the diod e of the BM high-current generator at the Lebedev Institute. Optical-r ange high-speed photography combined with conventional X-ray radiograp hy yielded visual data on the plasma dynamics. An analysis of the obta ined results makes it possible to construct a possible picture of the dynamics of various processes in an X-pinch.
