Abstract
A partitional approach to iron forms of some pedological features in a cid environments is attempted. It is based on dissolution by selective reagents and mineralogical controls applied on both microsampled mate rial and uncovered thin sections. Thus the studied hydromorphic areas show that with the oxidizing environment are associated labile ferrugi nous species and with the reducing one are associated well crystallize d iron ''oxides'' and significant amounts of iron available without pr ior reduction.
