Abstract
A square-root anharmonic oscillator potential V(r) = root A + B r(2) i s analysed as a model which simulates a quasi-relativistic squeezing o f the harmonic oscillator spectrum. Several eligible (namely, perturba tive, variational, Hill-determinant and Riccati-Pade) methods of const ruction of its bound states are compared.
