We show that a Calogero-Sutherland type model with anharmonic interact
ions of fourth and sixth orders leads to the matrix model correspondin
g to branched polymers. We also show that by suitably modifying this m
odel one can also obtain N-particle problems which are connected to ma
trix models corresponding to the pure gravity phase as well as corresp
onding to the transition point between the soap hubble and the branche
d polymer phase.
