Time-resolved transient absorption spectra and time-resolved delayed e
mission spectra of dilute solutions of 1,1'-dinaphthylamine at room te
mperature demonstrate the formation of an intramolecular triplet excim
er. Solvent polarity dependence of the spectral and temporal character
istics indicates that the formation of the intramolecular triplet exci
mer is facilitated by intermoiety charge-transfer interactions in the
lowest excited singlet state of the molecule.
