Abstract
We report on the current state of our research in the understanding of the evolution of core collapse supernovae. Convection in the post col lapse stellar core (proto neutron star) is an important ingredient to the success of the neutrino heating mechanism; we discuss our model an d indicate the sensitivity of our calculations to the inclusion of thi s convective model.
