Abstract
Investigations of self-pumped phase conjugation (SPPC) of a low power cw-laser using a dye-doped nematic liquid crystal are reported. The ph ase conjugated signal was generated by stimulated thermal scattering. Threshold power for phase conjugation at a wavelength of 514.5 nm was about 10 mW and maximum power-reflectivities up to 6% have been obtain ed. The ability to compensate phase aberrations caused by an etched gl ass plate has been demonstrated.
