H. Gibson et al., SURFACE AND SUSPENSION TESTING - CONFLICT OR COMPLEMENTARY, International biodeterioration & biodegradation, 36(3-4), 1995, pp. 375-384
The suspension and surface disinfectant test methods available are dis
cussed and results of such tests using impedance and traditional techn
iques ave presented. Surface attached organisms were generally found t
o be less susceptible to disinfectants than suspended organisms, In pr
actice, however, many factors ave present in the factory environment t
hat may affect the resistance of bacteria prior to disinfection. Conse
quently surface or suspension tests do not necessarily reflect disinfe
ctant activity in practice, and should therefore be confirmed by trial
s in the factory environment. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd
