THE REICHEL-SYNDROME - A CASE-REPORT AND A REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE

In the case report presented, we describe the Reichel syndrome - synov ial chondromatosis. The disease is monarticular, involves no trauma or inflammation, and tends to cause a build-up of floating cartilage. It s prognosis is good. On the basis of a review of the literature, we pr esent its etiology, diagnosis, differential diagnosis and histology. F or the initial treatment we recommend resection of the floating cartil age. If the disease occurs, we recommend synovectomy in addition.
