We present a patient with coronary heart disease and a heparin-induced
thrombocytopenia, who was successfully treated by coronary artery byp
ass grafting (CABG) using recombinant hirudin as an anticoagulant for
cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) instead of heparin.
