Based on the double folding potential of ion-ion interactions, an inve
stigation of the fusion cross sections at low energies for the reactio
ns of a very neutron-rich Li-11 with Sm-150, Sm-154 within the framewo
rk of the coupled multi-channel approach, is performed by taking accou
nt of the interplay of the soft dipole mode excitation associated with
Li-11 and the low-lying collective surface modes associated with (A)S
m. Both spherical and deformed target nuclei are considered.
