Dynamics of CO2 evolution at low pressure was studied in barley, maize
, pea, wheat and pine seedlings using the gas exchange system with las
er photoacoustic spectrometer. The CO2 evolution from plant surfaces t
o environment increased with decreasing air pressure. Simultaneously t
he changes in activities of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase, glucose-6
-phosphate dehydrogenase, glyceraldehyde phosphate dehydrogenase, alco
hol-dehydrogenase, isocitrate dehydrogenase, malate dehydrogenase in p
ea and maize leaves were observed. The response depended on plant spec
ies used as well as on air pressure and period of its action.
