Abstract
These recommendations regard the immunohistochemical evaluation of est rogen and progesterone receptors in paraffin sections of breast cancer s. All the components of the procedure are dealt with : fixation, anti gen retrieval, antibodies, controls, analysis and interpretation of im munostaining, report and quality assurance parameters. The purpose of these guidelines is to serve as a basis for standardization of techniq ues and results and to improve quality control.
