Abstract
Cellulase enzymes are usually characterized by evaluation of their act ivities towards different forms of cellulose and their derivatives. Fo r textile applications, it was suggested that the comparative evaluati on should also include the measurement of the activities in tests that simulate the large scale treatments with different degrees of mechani cal agitation. Comparisons were made between three cellulase mixtures with known compositions and two commercial cellulases by the proposed methodologies. The relations between cellulase activities of these enz yme mixtures and finishing effects obtained for different processes wi th various degree of mechanical agitation are shown.
