Abstract
New measurements for lifetimes of excited 0(+) and 2(+) levels in Xe-1 20 following beta decay of Cs-120 isomers are reported. From these dat a, EO and E2 transition rates are derived which exceed values calculat ed from models assuming only a limited valence nucleon space. The obse rved collectivity can be described by the inclusion of additional vale nce protons associated with particle-hole intruder configurations invo lving the pi g(9/2) orbital.
