Abstract
Seven types of wastelands were identified and mapped through visual in terpretation of Landsat TM FCCs of semi-arid Tonk district in Rajastha n. Wastelands in the district cover 21.04% area, of which the maximum was under degraded grazinglands (45.24%). The status of degradation of these wastelands were verified from field. The reclamation options, i ncluding soil and water conservation measures, as well as plantation o f suitable species, were also worked out.
