The electrochemical performance of the formed positive electrode after
long term storage at various conditions has been studied by the imped
ance analysis. The polarization curves of the positive electrodes indi
cated that the formation of lead sulfate increases during the storage
and the sulfate formes the interface of positive grid and active mater
ial. When the formed positive electrode was stored under a high humidi
ty atmosphere, the passivation film was formed at the interface. The s
imulation of the equivalent circuit showed that the resistivity of the
grid/active material interface increases by the passive film. The sim
ulated results agreed well with the experimental results.
