the chemical and petrochemical industry, because of the high flow-rat
es of process liquid and air involved requiring pumping energy and, th
erefore, high operating expenses. Consequently a high performance algo
rithm, as well as a selection criterion for the best heat exchanger, m
ust be worked out. The self adaptability consists in the simultaneous
utilization of the two working tools thus creating the possibility to
select, from the possible solutions multitude, the most proper one.
