V. Valimaki et al., PHYSICAL MODELING OF PLUCKED STRING-INSTRUMENTS WITH APPLICATION TO REAL-TIME SOUND SYNTHESIS, Journal of the Audio Engineering Society, 44(5), 1996, pp. 331-353
An efficient approach for real-time synthesis of plucked string instru
ments using physical modeling and DSP techniques is presented. Results
of model-based resynthesis are illustrated to demonstrate that high-q
uality synthetic sounds of several string instruments can be generated
using the proposed modeling principles. Real-time implementation usin
g a signal processor is described, and several aspects of controlling
physical models of plucked string instruments are studied.
